On December 2, 2019, police in Kenya arrested Faith Jepkosgei, an 18-year-old girl, for allegedly strangling her 3-weeks-old baby boy to death in their home in Singore Sub-location.
According to reports, Jepkosgei's father had been taunting her since she gave birth before marriage, leading to a heated argument between the two.
Jepkosgei claimed that her father's scolding was the reason behind the tragic incident.
Elsewhere in Shieywe village, Soy, Kakamega County, a man named Peter Katiba was found dead after hanging himself inside his girlfriend's homestead.
The deceased had been in a relationship with the girl and had promised to marry her, but she left home without informing him, leading him to believe she had opted to marry another man.
The child's body was moved to Kimbilo Funeral Home, while Katiba's body was found in the homestead.
