Kenya will be represented by five players at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, scheduled for December 5 to 8 at Vipingo Ridge's PGA Baobab course.
The players include former Kenya ladies champion Naomi Wafula, Nyali-based pro Bhavi Shah, Agnes Nyakio, Mercy Nyanchama from Vet Lab, and Golf Park's Margaret Njoki.
Naomi Wafula expressed her delight at being invited to play at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, saying it will be a great learning opportunity as she looks to turn pro in the near future.
Wafula, who recently played in the Safari Tour's sixth leg at the Great Rift Valley Golf Resort, is currently working on her short game and looks forward to a great showing at Vipingo Ridge.
Other African golfers participating in the tournament include Nigeria's Georgia Iziemgbe Oboh, Swaziland's Nobuhle Dlamini, South Africa's Stacy Lee Bregman and Lejan Lewthwaite, Morocco's Maha Haddioui, and American Lakareber Abe with roots in Uganda.
The Magical Kenya Ladies Open will feature a 72-hole stroke play format, running over four days from Thursday to Sunday, preceded by a Pro-Am on Wednesday.
The tournament is expected to be watched by over 270 million people worldwide, showcasing Kenya as an ideal destination for sporting events, holidays, and leisure.
