On a rain-soaked field at the KCB Sports Club in Nairobi, Kabras Sugar secured a historic 19-6 win over KCB on November 30, 2019, in a Kenya Cup match.

South African coach Henly Du Plessis described the victory as a psychological boost for his team, saying, 'This is the year we really wanted to get a win over KCB and going forward, we don’t have to fear them anymore.'

The win marked Kabras Sugar's first victory over KCB in 12 attempts and propelled them to the top of the 2019-20 Kenya Cup standings with 29 points, four points clear of KCB.

Although the match was forced to end prematurely due to the unplayable field, Kabras Sugar had already secured the win, having scored three tries and two conversions.

Coach Du Plessis praised his team's game-plan, saying, 'We had a game-plan which we stuck to. They put us under pressure but we survived that and kept them in their half and minimised our mistakes.'

The win sets Kabras Sugar up for a potential top finish in the regular season, which would see them host the final for the second consecutive season.
