On Sunday, Wazalendo sealed their spot in the Africa Cup for Club Championships with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Kenya Police at City Park, finishing second in the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) men's Premier League.

Wazalendo made a blistering start, with Danston Baraza scoring just two minutes into the match, followed by Joseph Kasua doubling the advantage 22 minutes later, leaving Police trailing 2-0 at the end of the first half.

However, Sutcliffe Usagi's remarkable shot in the second half put Wazalendo 3-0 up, only for Police to mount a comeback with two goals in quick succession from Samwel Oungo and Titus Kimtai, setting up a tense finale.

Despite the visitors' late surge, Wazalendo held on to secure the win, with coach Fidhelis Kimanzi describing the victory as 'deserved'.

By finishing second behind champions Butali Sugar Warriors, Wazalendo earned automatic qualification for the Africa Cup for Club Championships.
