On December 1, 2019, Superior Homes Kenya PLC marked a significant milestone in its diversification efforts by unveiling a Sh800 million high-end Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge.
The luxurious getaway, located six kilometres off the Nairobi –Nakuru highway on a 12-acre plot, boasts 33 standard villas, 13 villa suites, and four executive villas, as well as conference facilities.
According to Nicholas Njogu, the manager of Superior Homes, the lodge is designed to cater to tourists seeking a unique experience by the shores of Lake Elementaita.
"We are excited to open our doors to the public offering holidaymakers a home away from home. It has created 100 jobs for the local community, improving the livelihood of families around us and boosted the national economy," Njogu said.
Superior Homes' new venture is not the only hospitality outlet to be unveiled recently. Cytonn Investments also opened its serviced apartments-cum-hotel CySuites Apartments Hotel in Westlands, targeting both short and extended stay travellers.
Chief Executive Edwin Dande of Cytonn Investments noted that the demand for serviced apartments continues to grow, with an occupancy rate of about 88 percent and yields of about 12 percent.
