Kenyan Nurse's Heartwarming Encounter at Supermarket ¶
Published on December 1, 2019
Brigid Chichi, a nurse from Kenya, was in a supermarket to window shop as she had not received her 8-month salary. Her former patient, whom she could hardly remember, met her in the store and thanked her for the care she had received at Kisumu Specialist Hospital.
The patient, who had been treated by Chichi for a significant amount, offered to do her shopping worth KSh 15,000 in appreciation of the kindness the nurse had shown her. She also asked Chichi to always reach out in case she needed to do any shopping in the future, saying she would take care of it.
Chichi was both confused and happy when the patient asked her to pick anything she wanted in the supermarket. She began taking items from the shelves hesitantly, not to surpass her former patient's budget. However, the patient noticed her picking the things timidly and asked her to pick everything at its maximum capacity without fear.
The patient spent KSh 15,000 on Chichi, leaving her in awe. She described the encounter as a miracle, saying that everything she was desiring while window shopping was now in her trolley ready to go home with her.
Chichi expressed her gratitude, saying that she had forgotten the patient's name, but was glad she appreciated her work. The patient left Chichi a card and asked her to call in the future should she want to go shopping again.
