On December 1, 2019, Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed faced a hostile crowd at the Koroga Festival in Nairobi, Kenya.
Despite her efforts to engage with the crowd, she was met with jeers and chants of 'Aende! Aende!' (She must go! She must go!).
The crowd's reaction was reportedly fueled by her treatment of Kenyan sportsmen and women, which many felt was atrocious.
CS Amina has faced criticism in the past for her handling of Kenyan teams abroad, including an incident in October 2019 where the Kenyan netball team was stranded in South Africa.
She denied the claims and issued a demand letter to The Standard for publishing the information, which she deemed defamatory.
