Two Police Officers Arrested for Attempting to Rob Uber Driver in Kenya ¶
Two police officers in Kenya have been arrested for attempting to rob an Uber driver after they ordered him to drive them to a different location and then tried to flee when the car broke down.
According to the DCI, the two officers had ordered an Uber taxi to take them to Pangani, but instead of getting in the front seat, they ordered the driver to get into the back seat and drive them to Eastleigh.
However, before they could reach their destination, the car broke down on the Kilimanjaro roundabout, and the officers tried to flee but were caught by the police who were monitoring the situation.
The incident has sparked concerns about the growing number of police officers involved in criminal activities in Kenya.
On Saturday, November 23, police officers in Makueni County arrested a police officer who was involved in a theft case where he had stolen construction materials worth millions of shillings from a lorry that had lost control and crashed.
Earlier this week, a Kenya Defence Forces officer was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife and two children.
Additionally, four police officers were arrested in Nairobi for stealing KSh 60 million from an ATM at Standard Chartered Bank.
Another case involved three police officers who robbed a hotel in Eastleigh and stole KSh 6 million from a businessman.
It is worth noting that the incident has sparked concerns about the growing number of police officers involved in criminal activities in Kenya.
On December 2, the two officers will appear in court after the investigation is completed.
