Kenya Ports Authority women's basketball team has secured a spot in the Madgoat National Classic Basketball league play-offs final after defeating Storms 58-45 in game three of the semi-finals in Mombasa on Sunday, December 1, 2019.
Ulinzi Warriors also made a statement in the men's semi-finals, defeating defending champions KPA 82-69 in front of their fans at Makande Hall.
Equity Bank, meanwhile, set up a final showdown with KPA after dismissing University of Nairobi Dynamites 3-0 in the other semi-final series in Nairobi on Saturday.
Storms put up a strong fight against KPA in the first half, but the dockers eventually took control after a pep talk by coach Mike Opel at halftime.
Key players Natalie Akinyi and Seline Okumu were absent for KPA, but the team still managed to top score with 14 points from Hilda Indasi and 13 points from Taudencia Peter.
Victor Bosire led the charge for Ulinzi Warriors with 21 points, while Eric Mutoro added 20 points to the soldiers' tally.
