On December 1, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto urged leaders from across the political divide to take a common stand in the implementation of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Speaking at Kimende in Lari, Kiambu County, Dr. Ruto emphasized the need for unity in implementing the BBI report, warning that divisive politics would only polarize the country.
“For once, let us find a way to implement the BBI report together. It is not necessary for us to be divided,” Dr. Ruto said.
He also attended church services at Gituamba African Inland Church (AIC) in Kiambu County and Imaroro Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) in Kajiado East, Kajiado County.
Dr. Ruto was accompanied by several Jubilee Party leaders, including MPs Kimani Ichungwa, Rigathi Gachagua, Jane Kihara, Alice Wahome, Gabriel Kago, Josphat Kabeabea, Jude Njomo, Kwenya Thuku, Benjamin Washiali, and George Sunkuyia.
The Deputy President said Jubilee leaders have agreed to support the BBI report with the aim of ensuring the country remains united.
“We have all agreed, for Kenya to remain united that the implementation of BBI report should involve all Kenyans,” Dr. Ruto said.
