On Saturday night, award-winning singer Akothee collapsed on stage while performing at the prestigious Luo Night in Kisumu.
Just a week prior, Akothee had been hospitalized for five days due to fatigue, according to doctors.
Speaking to Mpasho.co.ke, Akothee's manager Nelly Oaks explained that the singer was resting due to continuous fatigue, having just checked out of the hospital the previous week.
Before the event, Akothee had expressed her gratitude to her fans in Kisumu, sharing photos and thanking them for their support.
She wrote, 'The love that even money can never buy. Family can disown you but trust me, there are people who adore you for reasons best known to them. They appreciate and love you for you and what they will benefit from you??????, thank you. My SECOND FAMILY #Akotheesfamilly #LuoFestival.'
She also posted, 'she is not only best female artist, but the richest female artist if not East Africa then Africa at large ❤❤, her wealth & treasures are hidden in heaven, where thieves and rust can never reach????and her fans are her bank account & family treat her the way she treats herself.'
