On November 29, 2019, the Karen Country Golf Club in Nairobi hosted the Fistula Challenge golf tournament, a charity event organized by Amref Health Africa.

Tom Simba took home the top prize with an impressive count back score of 43 stableford points, edging out runner-up Norah Njeri who also scored 43 points.

Simba's victory was marked by a late birdie at the par-four 12th hole, which proved to be the deciding factor in the tournament.

"Today we are playing for a worthy cause, indeed this is a good victory and I thank my playing partners, the sponsors, the club and organizers for hosting such a wonderful event," said Simba.

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta presented the award to Simba, while Cabinet Secretary for Health Sicily Kariuki and other dignitaries attended the event.

Other notable participants included Amref Health Africa Director Dr Meshak Ndirangu, Board Chairman Paul Kasimu, fistula champion Ruth Punyua, and Standard Group Chief Executive Orlando Lyomu.

The tournament aimed to raise funds for Amref's Health Service provisions.
