On November 30, 2019, Ciku Muiruri penned a scathing open letter to men who live off their partners, using the Jowie Irungu and Jacque Maribe case as an example.

According to court testimonies, Jowie Irungu was living a lavish lifestyle off Jacque Maribe's earnings, with the case judge even referring to him as a 'slay king.'

Ciku Muiruri took aim at men like Jowie, saying, 'Kept men need to pick a struggle. If she is the breadwinner, do what women do when you are the breadwinner… take care of her every need.'

She also questioned Jowie's behavior, saying, 'Does he even rub her feet when she gets home or he just wants to be treated like the king of the castle?'

Ciku Muiruri's letter has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many people weighing in on the issue of kept men and their responsibilities.
