On Thursday, November 28, 2019, Mbunge wa Dagoretti Kusini Simba Arati spoke at the unveiling of the new ODM office in Lavington, Nairobi. He claimed that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report cannot be debated in parliament because Deputy President William Ruto will bribe MPs.
Arati, who is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), suggested that it would be better for the report to be discussed and decided by the people.
"There is a problem, and we will have to agree. There is nothing like debating the BBI report in parliament. We know very well that William Samoei Ruto will give a bribe to all MPs to bring more problems to this country," Arati said.
He added, "The court of justice will only be found in the hands of the people." Arati's comments come after the Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Aden Duale, said that only parliament will be able to give a true direction regarding the BBI report.
Senator Kipchumba Murkomen also suggested that some parts of the BBI report need to be discussed in parliament.
