Beloved John, the Nigerian pastor and husband of Kenyan gospel artist Ruth Matete, has shared the challenges they faced in their dating life.
According to John, the couple dated for two years and eight months, with Ruth breaking up with him a staggering 38 times before they finally tied the knot.
John expressed his gratitude to Ruth for her unwavering dedication, saying, 'I dated you for 2 years 8 months and you broke up with me 38 times?. but today you are my wife for life,' in a heartfelt post.
The couple is currently on their honeymoon in Mombasa, having gotten married last Friday.
John also revealed that their first week of marriage has been nothing short of amazing, saying, 'This first week has been so amazing. It is like I just met you. I’m so glad we never gave up on each other, I remembered how you fasted and prayed for 40 days because of me. My life will never remain the same again. I love you Luxo.'
Just a day after their wedding, a woman claiming to be John's ex-wife came forward, accusing Ruth of 'stealing' her husband. However, Ruth refuted the claims, stating that her husband and ex-wife were no longer together.
John also addressed the situation, assuring his fans that he and Ruth are committed to each other and will not be swayed by external factors.
He wrote, 'WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO STOOD AND STILL STANDING BY ME AND MY WIFE. I ALSO WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO IS BUSY SEEKING TO DESTROY.. IN EVERYTHING, WE GIVE THANKS TO GOD. WE MADE A VOW TO GOD AND REGARDLESS OF WHAT COMES OUR WAY WE WILL KEEP THIS VOW.. I AND MY WIFE ARE DOING GOOD AND WANT TO BE ALLOWED TO ENJOY OUR LIVES AND MINISTRY. WE LOVE YOU ALL.'
