Embakassi East MP Babu Owino has sparked a heated debate on social media after suggesting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) set aside a national prayer day for gays like Kipchumba Murkomen.

On November 30, 2019, Babu Owino took to Twitter to express his views, saying,

“BBI should set aside a national prayer day for gays like @kipmurkomen who look at fellow men as women. After the prayers, he should be given free dildo/vibrator and cork to block his anus incase of any emergency,”

he wrote.

However, his proposal has been met with widespread criticism, with many Kenyans questioning his integrity and calling for him to apologize.

“This is the kind of language that sets us backwards. We should be respectful to our rivals even when we don't like them. It's a shame come from a member of parliament,” Ombiro Ochieng' tweeted.
