On October 4, 2019, Francis Wangusi, the former director-general of the Communication Authority of Kenya, received a notice from the government to vacate a state-owned house in Lavington, Nairobi. The notice, which expired on October 25, 2019, was served by police officers led by Dagoretti OCPD, ICT Principal Administrative Secretary Eric Kiraithe, and CA officials.

According to the notice, Wangusi was required to hand over the house to the authority with immediate effect, failure to which action would be taken to enforce compliance without further reference to him. The eviction notice comes just two weeks after the Employment and Labour Relations Court nullified the appointment of some members of the CA board.

Wangusi, who was not home at the time, told The Standard that he read malice in the move by the government and CA officials to push him out despite ongoing legal proceedings about the leadership of the authority. He expressed concern for his safety, stating that his security detail had been withdrawn and that police officers were instructed not to let him into the CA offices.
