Published on November 29, 2019, a chaotic clash on London Bridge left several people injured and one paralyzed, reviving memories of recent terrorist attacks in the city.

According to eyewitnesses, a man was seen wielding a knife before being shot by police. The Metropolitan Police reported that one man had been arrested and a number of people had been hurt.

Video footage showed a crowd surrounding the man on the ground as police officers arrived, with at least three officers responding with their guns drawn. The police then pulled the other people away from the man and an officer appeared to fire at least one shot, hitting the man and prompting screams from bystanders.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson issued a statement thanking the police and emergency services for their 'immediate response' and said he was being kept updated.

The incident has raised concerns about terrorism in the city, with memories of the 2017 attack on the same bridge still fresh. In that attack, a van careered onto the sidewalk, mowing down pedestrians, and three attackers then leapt from the vehicle wielding knives and attacking bystanders before being killed by the police.
