On November 29, 2019, Samburu North MP Alois Lentoimaga faced intense questioning at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Maralal town.

The investigations, led by Samburu county criminal investigations officer Seroney Soo, were prompted by rising insecurity and cattle rustling incidents in the MP's constituency.

According to Weekly Citizen, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations is expected to summon more people, including MCAs, for questioning as the investigation into the causes of banditry and cattle rustling in Samburu North continues.

Following the grilling, MP Lentoimaga commended the police for their efforts to restore calm in Baragoi.

He attributed the increased cattle rustling incidents in the region to the state's failure to recover stolen livestock and return it to affected families.
