On November 29, 2019, a devastating incident shook Kenyenya Sub-County, as a middle-aged man attempted to take his own life and poisoned his six-year-old son.
According to County Police Commander Martin Kibet, the suspect had a heated argument with his wife at Mokonomi village, which led to the tragic events that unfolded.
The man allegedly took poison and gave some to his son before drinking it himself. The child was rushed to Magenche dispensary, where he sadly passed away during treatment.
However, the man who was rushed to Kenyenya Sub-County hospital survived and is currently undergoing treatment.
Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the child's death, as the police boss noted.
The body of the six-year-old boy has been moved to Nyamache Sub-County hospital mortuary.
