Siaya County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal has issued fresh orders demanding the immediate prosecution of Chief Inspector Sabina Kerubo, who is the main suspect in the murder of journalist Eric Oloo.

According to reports, the local police had attempted to cover up the incident by failing to produce Kerubo in court, despite her being the prime suspect in the gruesome murder.

Weekly Citizen has learned that the investigation into Oloo's murder is being shifted from the Siaya regional DCI office to the provincial DCI office in Kisumu, following widespread criticism of the local police's handling of the case.

The move comes after sustained uproar from the Siaya county chief security officer, politicians, members of the fourth estate, family members, and the public over the police's handling of the matter.

Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, DCI George Kinoti, and DPP Noordin Haji are reportedly following the matter closely, with the Director of Public Prosecution's office also involved.

Postmortem results revealed that Oloo succumbed to trauma caused by injuries to his head and abdomen, which he sustained while in the police officer's bedroom.
