Unai Emery's tenure as Arsenal manager has come to an end, with the club announcing his departure on November 29, 2019, following a string of poor results.

Emery was appointed in May 2018, replacing Arsene Wenger, but his time at the helm was marked by a series of disappointing performances and results.

His last game in charge was a 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League, a result that sealed his fate as the club's manager.

Former Gunner Freddie Ljungberg has taken over on an interim basis, with the club set to scout for Emery's replacement.

Arsenal's decision to sack Emery marks the third managerial change in the top flight this season, following the departures of Javi Garcia from Watford and Mauricio Pochettino from Tottenham.

Club chairman Josh Kroenke thanked Emery for his time at the club, saying, 'Our most sincere thanks go to Unai and his colleagues who were unrelenting in their efforts to get the club back to competing at the level we all expect and demand. We wish Unai and his team nothing but future success.'

The club's statement further explained that the decision to sack Emery was motivated by a series of poor results, saying, 'The decision has been taken due to results and performances not being at the level required.'
