On August 4, 2019, Frida Gakii was found with 15 rolls of bhang inside her house in Kiwanjani, Isiolo town, while Andrew Mutuma had five rolls in his pocket.
Initially, the duo, along with Yusuf Mburugu, had pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on a Sh100,000 bond.
However, on Friday, they changed their plea to guilty while appearing before Isiolo Chief Magistrate Samuel Mungai.
Magistrate Mungai noted that the offence was serious and had become prevalent in the county, with drug abuse being a leading vice.
“Most of the youths have fallen victims, and accused persons, despite being parents, are the ones selling the drugs to them,” said Mr Mungai.
He directed that the duo pay a Sh50,000 fine or serve one year in prison.
Mr Mburugu's case will be heard on March 2, 2020.
