On November 29, 2019, Mauricio Pochettino's tenure as Tottenham Hotspur manager came to an end after 5-1/2 years.

Speaking for the first time since his dismissal, Pochettino acknowledged the 'tough challenges' and 'exciting success' he experienced during his time at the club.

"I gave the best of me to accomplish the objectives I was asked for in our first meeting," Pochettino said in a statement released by the League Managers Association.

He expressed gratitude to Tottenham's owner Joe Lewis and chairman Daniel Levy for giving him the opportunity to be part of the club's history, as well as the fans who made the club great with their support.

Under Pochettino's leadership, Tottenham reached the Champions League final last season, but a poor run of results this season led to his sacking.

He was replaced by Jose Mourinho, who has since guided the team to two wins in two games.
