Published on November 29, 2019, allegations have emerged that Migori Governor Okoth Obado may have shared sensitive information with lawyer George Wajackoyah, who is representing the family of murdered student Sharon Otieno.
Wajackoyah's involvement in the case has reportedly left Obado and his co-accused, Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero, seeking to have the lawyer disqualified from the case.
According to sources, Wajackoyah paid a visit to Obado at Gigiri Police Station on September 23, 2018, two days after the governor's arrest, and sought his instruction on the case.
Wajackoyah, a law scholar with six degrees, gained fame in 2016 for representing Koffi Olomide after he assaulted a woman in Nairobi, and later declared his intention to form a political alliance with former presidential aspirant Abduba Dida ahead of the 2017 elections.
