On September 20, 2019, a dramatic scene unfolded at Terryanne Chebet's residence, where Jacque Maribe and Jowie were staying. The house girl, Pamela, was present that night and has since testified in court about the events that transpired.
According to Pamela, Jowie left the house in the evening, and later that night, she heard him shouting for help. She found his clothes and belongings downstairs and saw Brian Kassaine, a neighbor, and his wife asking for Jowie's identity card.
Pamela testified that she never heard any gunshot that night, despite Jowie's alleged self-inflicted wound. She then saw Jacque Maribe come from upstairs and follow Brian and his wife outside, where Jowie was found in Maribe's car, bleeding from his body.
After they left, Pamela went upstairs to check on the baby and saw their bedroom light on. She decided to switch it off and found a gun and blood on the floor near the bathroom. She then went downstairs and called Terryanne Chebet, who told her to sleep.
However, Pamela did not sleep that night, as she was shaken by what she had seen. Later that night, Jowie and Jacque returned, and Jowie's hand had been bandaged. They went upstairs to sleep, and Brian came with them and left.
The following morning, Maribe returned Jowie's clothes, and Jacque's mum went to their house. They cooked and ate, and at some point, Jowie came downstairs to greet her. Maribe left for work at 3 pm, and her mom followed her with the child.
Later that evening, Brian came and asked for the car keys, saying he was taking Jowie back to the hospital. Pamela gave him the car key, and he went upstairs to pick Jowie and brought him down. They didn't come back, and Jacque also didn't come back until the next morning, Saturday.
