Kenya Power has announced a delay in the publication of its financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2019, citing the ongoing process of appointing a new auditor general.
The company's annual general meeting, scheduled to take place before December 31, 2019, has been postponed to a later date to be communicated in due course.
The delay is attributed to the vacant office of the auditor general, which has been without a head since Edward Ouko's tenure ended on August 27, 2019.
According to a statement from the company secretary, the office of the auditor general has advised that the selection and appointment of the new auditor general will not be completed by November 30, 2019.
As a result, Kenya Power will not hold its annual general meeting before December 31, 2019, as per the Companies Act.
Notice of the new date of the AGM will be communicated in due course.
