Football Kenya Federation's (FKF) financial dealings have come under intense scrutiny following the discovery of a Sh244 million discrepancy in funds allocated for Harambee Stars' AFCON preparation.

According to Sports PS Kirimi Kaberia, the Office of the Auditor-General has been tasked with investigating the alleged embezzlement, with the PS stating that FKF's report had 'issues with accountability'.

On Thursday, the National Assembly Committee on Sports summoned PS Kaberia to explain the altercation between the government and FKF over the funds. The PS emphasized the need for the auditor to carry out a thorough investigation before providing factual information.

FKF, led by Nick Mwendwa, had previously accused PS Kaberia of creating bad blood between them and the government, as well as having an unresponsive attitude in their requests for funding from the Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund.
