On November 29, 2019, Air India resumed its operations on the Nairobi route, marking a significant boost to tourism between Kenya and India.
According to Kenya Tourism Board Chief Executive Betty Radier, the airline's return will enhance accessibility to Kenya, complementing existing connectivity by Kenya Airways and other airlines.
"The return of Air India to Kenya adds to the existing connectivity by KQ and other airlines flying into Kenya, thus enhancing accessibility," said Dr Radier.
With four direct flights a week, Air India's return is expected to increase tourism between the two countries, making it easier for travelers to explore the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of Kenya and India.
