Kenya's national football team, Harambee Stars, has made a significant leap in the latest FIFA rankings, released on November 28, 2019. The team has moved up two spots to position 106 with 1119 points, just one point behind Mozambique who are ranked 105th.
The rankings come after Harambee Stars secured a brave 1-1 draw against Egypt in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier in Alexandria, followed by a 1-1 draw against Togo at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani in Nairobi.
Uganda is the highest-ranked nation from the CECAFA region, having leaped two positions to 77th after a draw against Burkina Faso and a win against Malawi in AFCON Qualifiers.
The highest-ranked African nation remains Sadio Mane's Senegal in 20th position, followed by Nigeria in 31st and Algeria in 35th. Morocco and Ghana complete the African top 5 in 43rd and 47th respectively.
Belgium still leads the FIFA rankings, followed by world champions France and Copa America champions Brazil. England, Uruguay, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, and Colombia make up the top 10 in that order.
