On November 28, 2019, Nation Media Group (NMG) announced that over 800 participants would attend the Kusi Ideas Festival in Kigali, Rwanda, from December 8 to 9.

The festival, organized by NMG in partnership with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and its affiliated organizations, aims to provide a platform for Africa to reflect on its past 60 years and set the pace for the next 60 years.

NMG Chairman Dr. Wilfred Kiboro emphasized the importance of the festival, saying, "There has been tremendous change in the continent in health, governance, and education, but there have also been great challenges such as famine, wars, and genocides. If we are going to make a contribution to the world, we need to start thinking of the future."

Heads of state, innovators, captains of industry, and entrepreneurs from around the world are expected to attend the festival, which will feature discussions on various topics, including education, infrastructure, health, environment, and finance.

AKDN Diplomatic Representative Dr. Azim Lakhani noted that AKDN affiliated organizations have been a thought leader in Africa over the past 60 years, making significant contributions in various sectors.
