On November 28, 2019, Liverpool's Premier League leaders faced a challenging draw with Napoli, but it was not just the scoreline that left them worried. Fabinho, a key midfielder, limped off the field in the first half after a tackle by Hirving Lozano.
Dejan Lovren's attempt to tackle Lozano led to Fabinho's injury, which has left the team's management, particularly manager Jurgen Klopp, concerned. The injury occurred in the 19th minute, and Fabinho was replaced by Georginio Wijnaldum.
Speaking about the injury, Klopp stated, 'The biggest thing is the Fabinho injury, that's massive.' He also expressed hope that the injury is not too serious, saying, 'It's early and we all hope it's not too serious but it's pretty painful and in an area you don't want to have pain, around the ankle.'
When asked about the potential severity of the injury, Klopp replied, 'I don't want to say what I expect because I hope it is not serious. He has pain, which is not good. He couldn't continue. I hope it is not that serious. We'll know more maybe tomorrow or the day after.'
The injury has come at a critical time for Liverpool, as they head into an intense month of fixtures, including two games in Qatar in the Club World Cup. The team's performance against Napoli was not up to par, with only Roberto Firmino looking in top form.
