Kenyan economist and socio-political commentator Dr. David Ndii has made a significant statement on his preferred 2022 presidential candidate, suggesting that he will be backing Deputy President William Ruto.
According to Ndii, the problems facing Kenya are largely due to the country's political dynasties, which he believes should be sent home. He argued that if Kenyans have to choose between Ruto and the dynasties, Ruto would be a better choice.
Ndii, who was previously a key strategist for NASA and Raila Odinga's election campaigns, made the comments on Twitter, stating that Ruto would be easier to deal with in the current era.
Let me be clear. The imperative for progressive forces is to send both Ruto and the dynasties home. But if God forbid we must suffer one evil let us suffer Ruto—him we have a fighting chance. If we don’t uproot the dynasties in 2022, they will enslave up to our grand children. — David Ndii (@DavidNdii) November 28, 2019
Ndii's comments come after he recently expressed his dissatisfaction with Raila Odinga, marking a significant turnaround in their relationship.
