Published on November 28, 2019, outgoing Kiambu Golf Club captain Michael Nene is set to host his captain's prize tournament, marking the end of his term in office.
The two-day event, which takes place this weekend, has attracted a big field of 150 players, including sponsors like East Africa Breweries, Safari Park Hotel, and D.T.Dobie.
Club captain Nene assured that everything has been put in place to ensure that every golfer plays and finishes their round on time.
He noted that the course is in excellent condition, thanks to the ongoing rains, with lush fairways and inviting greens.
However, Nene warned players to be cautious not to stray into the rough, which may hold onto their balls.
Besides the fabulous prizes, the event will feature entertainment, including music by the popular Press Men Band.
Marshalling will be strict, with a large field expected, but Nene is confident that the club's recent experience in staging big events will help manage the crowd.
The field includes top players like Michael Karanga, Michael Ngene, and Joyce Wanjiru, as well as newcomers like Michael Njoroge, who won the Kiambu Medical Centre event with an impressive score of 39 points.
