On November 27, 2019, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Mombasa County made a significant breakthrough in their efforts to combat crime in the region.
Seven suspected criminals were smoked out of their hideouts in Kisauni, Mombasa County, following a tip-off from members of the public.
The suspects, who include Abubakar Mothar alias Sela Sela, Mohammed Juma Bakari aka Fujo, Shaban Nyati, Mohammed Abdallah alias Baba Yee, Mohammed Badi aka Daddy, Said Salim Ndaro aka Salim Madiro and Seif Kai Makembamba aka Biggy, are suspected to have been involved in various criminal activities in the area.
They remain in police custody awaiting interrogation and subsequent arraignment in court as investigations continue.
