On November 24, 2019, Jambojet had announced plans to launch two new routes, starting with Mogadishu and Kigali. However, the airline's maiden flight to Mogadishu was delayed due to a failure to secure the necessary authorizations.

"We were to begin operations in Mogadishu on November 24. However, we did not get the time slots we had requested and hence we are still in discussions with the authorities," said Jambojet Chief Executive Allan Kilavuka.

Despite the delay, the airline successfully launched its maiden flight from Nairobi to Kigali, which will operate once daily from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Kigali International Airport.

Jambojet is now targeting February 2020 for the flights to Somalia, pending the necessary approvals.
