On November 28, 2019, a couple's romantic moment was captured by photographers at a surf break where they first met and had many of their first dates.

Christopher Garth, 38, got down on one knee on a surfboard, pulling out the ring and popping the question to Lauren Oiye, 32, who was surfing alongside him.

At first, Lauren thought it was a joke, but soon she realized it wasn't and was overjoyed.

However, moments later, Chris accidentally dropped the ring in the ocean.

Fortunately, the 38-year-old had planned ahead and had used a spare, with the real engagement ring kept safe on shore.

Lauren later wrote on Instagram, 'Christopher Garth, I love you and am so grateful the stars aligned and our ancestors that came before us so beautifully orchestrate this for us!'
