Two Arrested for Transporting Over 600 Sacks of Uncustomed Sorghum

On November 27, 2019, a multi-agency team led by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives intercepted a trailer carrying over 600 sacks of uncustomed sorghum at Kanyonyo area in Kitui County.

The suspects, Abdullahi Sheikh Hassan and 53-year-old Dahabo Abdi Ali, were arrested and are currently being held as investigations continue.

The trailer, which was transporting the illegally imported goods, was also seized by the authorities.

According to the DCI, the operation was part of efforts to curb the smuggling of goods into the country.
