On November 27, 2019, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested a man in Kisumu County after a loaded firearm was found hidden on the ceiling of his house in Kisian.

The suspect, Fredrick Odhiambo Nudu, was nabbed following a tip-off from members of the public. A pistol, a Jericho model with six rounds of ammunition, was recovered from the house.

Mr. Nudu was among four people arrested on Wednesday during an ongoing investigation into rampant cases of gun violence in the area. The other three suspects include Mercy Akinyi (22), Enock Ochieng (28), and Edward Okumu (28).

According to the DCI, the suspects remain in lawful custody, assisting in further investigations as the war on criminal violence intensifies.
