Published on November 28, 2019, the National Olympic Committee of Kenya has chosen Kurume City, a town on Japan's Kyushu Island, as the training base for the country's Olympic team.
The partnership between the National Olympic Committee of Kenya and Kurume City will last for two years, with the official agreement set to be sealed in February 2020.
Kenyan athletes will report to the training base in May 2020, ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, which will take place from July 24 to August 6, 2020.
Kenya plans to send approximately 200 athletes to compete in the Games, with at least 45 athletes already qualified, including two swimmers, 28 track and field athletes, and the national rugby men and women teams.
