Published on November 28, 2019, a court in Isiolo has released a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate on Sh100,000 bond.
Chief Magistrate Samuel Mungai ordered the release of Ibrahim Adam Mahat with one surety of the same amount or cash bail of Sh50,000.
The student is accused of being in possession of KCSE examination papers on November 20, 2019.
According to the court, Ibrahim Adam was discovered at Wabera School with two handwritten papers of answers for History Paper 2.
The student denied the charges, and the case will be mentioned on December 10, 2019, with the hearing set for February 27, 2020.
Examinations Council Act No. 29 of 2012 stipulates that a candidate found guilty of irregularity may face severe penalties, including expulsion from the exam centre, cancellation of papers or results, and denied entry into subsequent exams.
