Michelle Ntalami Nkatha's Harrowing Childhood Experience

Published on November 28, 2019, Michelle Ntalami Nkatha, the 35-year-old founder and CEO of Marini Naturals, recalled a near-death experience she had as a child in an interview with Kenyans.co.ke.

At the age of 7, Ntalami contracted rabies after being bitten by puppies she was fond of. She would often crush food in her mouth and feed the puppies, which led to her contracting the deadly disease.

"I had a near-death experience back when I was seven years old. We used to house a huge litter of puppies. I was so fond of them that I literally used to crush food in my mouth and mouth-feed the puppies," she narrated.

As a result, Ntalami was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, where she slipped into a coma. Her mother's intervention proved crucial in saving her life, as she pushed Ntalami to fight the disease.

"It was quite a chilling experience. But I still love dogs," said the female entrepreneur of the year 2018.
