On 27 November, Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, made headlines with his dramatic entrance to the Bomas of Kenya for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report launch.
According to a video posted by the outspoken legislator on his social media platform, he was escorted by a rowdy group of men who walked him to the BBI launch venue.
Babu Owino claimed that the group forced their way through the gates of Bomas to support him ahead of the launch.
As seen in the video, the legislator's entourage was excited, with some chanting his name and others pledging their loyalty.
“Babu Owino tialala! Tuko loyal (we’re loyal), Babu tibim!” the bodied escort chanted.
As a loyal member of the Orange Democratic Party (ODM), Babu demonstrated his full support for the BBI and had urged his followers to support it since its unveiling.
