On Tuesday at 10pm, a devastating fire swept through Brooke trading centre in Ainamoi Constituency, claiming the life of a police officer.
The officer, who was asleep in a room adjacent to his business, was trapped underneath twisted corrugated iron sheets and charred beyond recognition.
Some police officers positively identified the body, confirming the tragic loss of life.
The fire also destroyed 14 business premises at the centre, leaving many in the community reeling from the disaster.
