On November 27, 2019, an out-of-court settlement was reached between the three widows of Jonathan Moi, the first-born son of retired President Daniel Moi, who passed away in April 2019 after a long battle with cancer.

The agreement, signed before Justice Aggrey Muchelule, includes 12 children as heirs to Jonathan's property, up from the initial four beneficiaries.

As part of the deal, the widows - Sylvia Moi, Beatrice Mbuli, and Faith Nyambura - agreed to identify Jonathan's assets and liabilities and file a report in court by December 15, 2019.

The dispute arose after Beatrice and Faith challenged an earlier court order that granted Sylvia temporary rights to administer Jonathan's estate, alleging that Sylvia had undervalued his assets and transferred some to herself without their knowledge or consent.
