On November 25, 2019, the third China-Kenya Industrial Capacity Cooperation Exposition (China-Kenya Expo) kicked off in Nairobi, with 83 Chinese companies showcasing their products and seeking business opportunities.
The expo aims to connect local and regional sourcing, buying, and purchasing professionals from Kenya's retail, wholesale, distribution, and import/export organizations with their counterparts from China.
Organized by China International Exhibition Centre Group Corporation (CIEC Group) and sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in collaboration with Kenya's Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Cooperatives, the event will run until November 29, 2019.
Some of the areas identified for cooperation include information and communication technology (ICT), as well as transportation and logistics.
Chinese firms are actively engaged in implementing public and private contracts in Kenya.
