On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta launched the BBI report at the Bomas of Kenya, and in a move that left the crowd in stitches, he recalled a personal anecdote from the Kibra by-election.
According to President Kenyatta, a lady friend in Kibra informed him that the by-election was peaceful and that she had benefited from the money circulated in the constituency during the heated campaigns.
Speaking at the event, President Kenyatta rallied leaders to focus on uniting Kenya and avoiding divisive politics.
He emphasized the need for a long-term plan to resolve the country's issues, saying, 'There is no country that can progress with a five-year plan. We must have a 20-year plan and above to resolve our issues.'
President Kenyatta also urged leaders to focus on politics that drive the country forward, rather than personal ambitions.
He stated that the BBI report was a foundation towards a richer and splendid Kenya, one that the future generation would be proud of.
President Kenyatta called on the people to read the report and bring forth their opinions, saying, 'We are setting precedents for the next generation using BBI and to have the residents respect each other in the future.'
