Kipchumba Murkomen: From BBI Critic to Supporter

Seneta wa Elgeyo Marakwet Kipchumba Murkomen, a close ally of William Ruto, has changed his stance on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI). He initially opposed the report but has now come out in support of it.

According to Murkomen, the report is a personal initiative of President Uhuru Kenyatta and does not require a vote in Parliament. He stated, "Ni ripoti ya rais binafsi na kwa mapana imeshughulikia maoni ya Jubilee. Haihitaji kura ya maamuzi tutaishughulikia Bungeni," in a post on his Facebook page.

He also stated that the report will be discussed and evaluated in Parliament, and that it is not a tsunami as some people have claimed. Murkomen's change of heart comes after the report was officially released on November 26, 2019.

Other politicians who have also come out in support of the BBI report include Mbunge wa Kapseret Oscar Sudi, Seneta Mteule Millicent Omanga, Mbunge wa Garissa Mjini Aden Duale, and Mbunge wa Thika Mjini.

However, not all politicians are in support of the report. Some, like Mbunge wa Thika Mjini, have expressed concerns about the report's contents and the process of its creation.

President Uhuru Kenyatta had promised that the 'handshake' between him and Raila Odinga would unite the country, but the release of the BBI report has sparked a new wave of debate and discussion.

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen whether the BBI report will be implemented and what impact it will have on the country.
