On November 26, 2019, Jacque Maribe appeared in court, where several witnesses took the stand to share their accounts of the events surrounding the murder of Monica Kimani.

George Kimani, Monica's brother, testified that Yassir Mohammed, Monica's boyfriend, did not attend her burial, despite being informed about it. Mohammed was the country director of Caterpillar Inc and lived in the same apartment as Monica.

Kimani also stated that he was unaware whether Mohammed collected his belongings from the apartment after Monica's death.

Further, Kimani revealed that Mohammed was supposed to meet Monica in Dubai on September 20, but the meeting never took place.

Government analyst Joseph Kimani testified that the DNA on the white straps used to tie Monica's hands did not link Jowie to them. The DNA was of an unknown origin, the court heard.

The pathologist, who received 73 exhibits from the police, including DNA samples and swabs from several people, told the court that the DNA on the empty beer can and the white straps were of different unknown origins.
