Monicah Kimani, a 28-year-old businesswoman, was found brutally murdered in her Lamuria Garden apartment in Kilimani on September 19, 2018.

Her body was discovered with her neck slit ear-to-ear, hands and legs bound, and dumped in the bath tub.

Joseph Kuria Irungu, alias Jowie, and Jacque Maribe have denied any involvement in the murder.

Dr. Joseph Kimani, a government chemist, analyzed Jowie's brown shorts and found a blood spot that matched Monicah's DNA.

During cross-examination, Dr. Kimani revealed that the DNA on an empty beer can and white straps was of unknown origin.

The trial continues with nine witnesses having already testified.
